On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Climate Systems to join their HVDC engineering organization. The role focuses on leading the design, development, and integration of climate systems for HVDC converter stations, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with customer and industry standards.

You will play a key role across all project phases — from tendering and conceptual design to detailed engineering, installation, and commissioning. This position offers an opportunity to work in an international environment with advanced technology and close collaboration between multiple engineering disciplines.

Assignment Scope:

• Lead the design and engineering of climate systems for HVDC converter stations

• Perform design calculations and develop layouts, schematics, and technical specifications

• Review and validate technical designs, drawings, and documentation

• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, ASHRAE standards, and internal guidelines

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate climate systems into complete HVDC plant designs

• Support all project phases — from tender to detailed design, procurement, installation, and commissioning

• Participate in design reviews and testing, including on-site inspections and verification during commissioning

• Translate customer needs into robust, efficient, and compliant climate system solutions

• Contribute to continuous improvement and mentor junior engineers within the team

We’re looking for someone with:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field (focus on heat transfer and fluid mechanics)

• At least 5 years of experience in climate systems or HVAC engineering for industrial or energy applications

• Proven expertise in equipment such as chillers, dehumidifiers, air handling units, and control/monitoring sensors

• Solid understanding of psychrometric charts, heat transfer, flow diagrams, and control principles

• Experience from large-scale engineering or EPC projects is an advantage

• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to drive projects forward

• Fluency in English (Swedish is preferred but not mandatory)

• Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment

Location: Ludvika or Västerås – on-site presence at least 3 days per week required (especially during the first year)
