Android Telephony Framework Engineer

Job description

We are seeking an Android Telephony Framework Engineer in San Diego!

The role requires deep understanding of mobile SoC or embedded Linux or Android. The successful candidate will have a proven experience commercializing cellular modem products in the North American market. You will participate in new feature development and debugging for carrier requirements in 5G/4G/3G/2G/CDMA technologies. Utilize your experience in Android Telephony Layer and Radio Interface Layer (RIL) to design cutting edge wireless modem or smartphone devices.

Basic qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s in computer science or equal
• Strong, demonstrable coding skills in C and C++ or Java
• 3+ years of experience development experience in Android and Linux OS environments
• Multiple years’ experience in cellular software development, debugging, and optimization
• Understanding of North American Cellular carrier requirements
• Familiarity with LTE call flow and performance analysis, characterization and optimization
• Software design and coding experience in Android Telephony Framework and Radio Interface Layer (RIL) SW
• Experience in wireless modem or smartphone devices certification in association with 3G/4G/5G
• Experience with Volte/VoWifi, IMS, voice calls and supplementary service, data connection, SMS/MMS, UICC
• Good understanding of 3GPP 5G/4G/3G/2G and 3GPP2 CDMA systems
• Experience with cellphone products development based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 4G/5G modem implementation is preferred
• Strong documentation and writing skills
