Role description

As a Technical Lead at Sigma Connectivity, you are directly involved in the core of our business at our Lund office, meeting and understanding the customer´s vision and needs. Writing statements of work and defining the system architecture needed to realize it. You work together with our team of experienced software developers to deliver great solutions within the constraints of the project.

You will be instrumental in writing quotations, making design choices to realize customer’s product/service vision. You are also expected to lead Software team in a project. You have the ability to work with all the different stakeholders in an organization such as the software leadership team, Project managers, Sales and Software engineers. You will be coaching other engineers and grow them technically. As a technical lead it is expected that you know or can learn about the latest technological trends within the different embedded software fields. You will also actively work with the software management team to realize competence growth for Sigma Connectivity to stay as premium software services provider.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Development within embedded software and related areas
• Work in teams with other software developers & testers
• Leading a software team technically, focusing a team on the right things to do right now
• Motivate team members and highlight things not working in team
• Working hands on as senior member of a software team with a variety of tasks
• Meeting customers and understanding what they want from a technical perspective
• Analyzing customer needs and requirements and suggesting a feasible solution them
• Estimating work and team setup needed to realize a project
• Helping out to write quotations or pre-studies for customers
• Be a point of contact for the team for both customer and PM

Technical requirements

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and at least one scripting language. Knowledge of additional programming languages is a merit.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience
• Comfortable in most aspects of embedded SW development with everything from reading schematics, debugging hardware, bring-up, (secure)bootloaders, embedded architecture & design, device drivers, debuggers, actual implementation, testing, scripting & automation, devOps etc.
• Have experience with one or more wireless connectivity stacks such as Bluetooth, Wifi, NFC, LTE, Thread, UWB, etc.
• Linux Centric – Leans heavily towards working in a Linux environment and have extensive knowledge of the internal working of Linux and the tools available on Linux to be able to build and solve problems, on both device and host. Experience with configuring a custom Linux platform with Yocto.
• Have experience working with smaller RTOS type of systems as well. For example: Nordic(Zephyr), STM(FreeRTOS), TI(TI-RTOS), etc.
