Job description

Sigma Connectivity is seeking for a technical salesperson focusing on sales of engineering design services (software and hardware) to our existing customers in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role you are part of the Sigma Connectivity Business Development and Sales team.

Our ideal candidate has worked in consumer electronics SW development or project management, is a people person who enjoys interacting with people, is a good listener, is passionate about solving customers’ engineering challenges, preferably has sales experience, and is good at positioning Sigma Connectivity's services as indispensable solutions to clients’ technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: You will primarily work with our Silicon Valley customers. Your task is to understand our customers’ technical and business challenges, define tailored and innovative SW and HW solutions matching together with our engineering teams, and offer them to our customers.
  • Relationship Building: You build and maintain long-term trust-based relationships with our clients through honesty, reliability, clear communication, and consistent delivery on our commitments. You may already have a network of business, customer, and partner contacts, and you are looking forward to growing your network with Sigma.
  • Sales: Your task is to understand customer business goals and needs, find practical solutions to the customer needs with our engineering team, effectively communicate Sigma Connectivity's business proposals and value proposition, navigate the competitive landscape, and close contracts with our customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Assure that customer expectations are set correctly and that the Sigma engineering team delivering the services is fully onboard and understands the customer expectations. Work closely with the Sigma engineering and project teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients. Be the customer voice within Sigma Connectivity proving the customer perspective to the rest of Sigma Connectivity.

Job Location and Travel Requirements

  • You will primarily be working with our Silicon Valley-based customers and meeting the customers at the customer sites. This role requires mostly only local travel.
  • When not meeting customers and Sigma teams at the customer sites, you will be working from the Sigma Connectivity San Jose, CA office and from home.
  • There will be occasional business trips to meet our existing and new customers mostly on the west coast of the USA, trips to conventions like the CES, and trips to our headquarters in Lund, Sweden.

Basic qualifications

Work Experience

  • Proven track record of managing or working as part of a product development team.
  • 3-5 years of software development or technical project management experience (Android Framework, embedded systems,..) as part of a SW development team or alternatively, 3 - 5 years of hardware or mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience of selling engineering services and managing customer relationships is a big plus.

With your hands-on engineering experience, and working as part of engineering teams, you are easily able to relate to the engineering challenges our customers are facing. With your in-depth knowledge of engineering and design services Sigma Offers, you can propose how we at Sigma can best solve customers’ engineering challenges.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and listen actively to understand client needs.
  • Relationship Building: Natural ability to connect with customers and solve their problems.
  • Business Acumen: Keen interest in understanding our client’s business objectives combined with effective negotiation skills.
  • Service Delivery Awareness: Understanding of customer project lifecycles and ability to facilitate teamwork.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with changing circumstances and client needs, maintaining resilience in the face of challenges, and assuring that if engineering requirements change, the customer contracts are also updated accordingly. Flexible in managing diverse client needs and schedules across different time zones.

We offer

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 – $250,000 per year. The Annual Salary depends upon various job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
