Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race – Meet jury member Emma Jakobsson

For this year’s Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race, we are pleased to welcome some new members to our jury. First to be introduced is Emma Jakobsson, department manager at Sigma Industry North in Umeå. Her team of consultants specializes in project management, energy systems, and construction, and with her background as an energy engineer, she brings both expertise and hands-on experience to the table.

Emma has worked on major investment projects in district heating, biogas, and solar energy. Over the past three years at Sigma Industry, she’s focused on developing innovative energy solutions. When asked why she believes in initiatives like Experts of Tomorrow, her answer is clear:

“Every initiative that introduces young people to technology and problem-solving is incredibly valuable. To spark curiosity at an early age and understand that everyone's ideas matter.”

She looks forward to joining the jury and discovering the participants’ solutions.

“I hope that we can inspire more children to discover technology and eventually choose to pursue further education in this field. I'm also really looking forward to being part of the jury and seeing all the great ideas.”

When asked about one innovation she particularly values, she answers:

“Well, I grew up before the internet existed, so I know it's technically possible to live without it. But these days? I'd say it's pretty much an innovation we can't live without.”
