Principal Software Engineer – R&D / Transformer Components

Assignment description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of medium to large, moderately complex delivery projects. The role carries full responsibility for project execution, contract compliance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and delivery according to quality, HSE, and schedule requirements.

You will lead cross-functional project teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of high-profile projects within the Hitachi Energy framework.

Assignment Scope:

• Lead and manage medium to large delivery projects with full accountability for scope, cost, quality, and schedule

• Ensure contract compliance and manage deviations, claims, and supplier/customer negotiations

• Define project execution strategy and establish clear project plans, milestones, and governance

• Allocate and manage internal and external resources effectively

• Monitor project progress, report status, and take corrective actions when required

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues

• Communicate proactively with customers and stakeholders, managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle

• Ensure all deliverables meet contractual, technical, and business requirements

• Support and mentor junior project managers and coordinators

• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-project evaluations

We’re looking for someone with:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field

• Minimum 6 years of experience in project management, ideally with complex delivery projects

• Certification as HITACHI ENERGY Senior Project Manager, PMP®, or IPMA Level B/C

• Proven ability to manage projects of varying size, complexity, and contractual setup

• Strong capability to recover challenged projects when needed

• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

• Experience working with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar

• Fluency in English, spoken and written

Location: Sweden (defined by client)
Work setup: On-site / hybrid according to project needs
