Consultant Request – Traction Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a consultant for an assignment as a Traction Electrical Design Engineer with our client within the railway and transportation industry.

In this role, the consultant will work with technical investigations, electrical design, and development of propulsion systems for modern railway vehicles. The assignment involves close collaboration with multiple functions across engineering, manufacturing, and testing activities.

The consultant will participate throughout the entire product lifecycle — from design and validation to delivery and field support.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical circuit diagrams and technical documentation
• Create and support routine testing and validation documentation
• Work with harness design and electrical interfaces
• Perform technical investigations and engineering analyses
• Collaborate with system, manufacturing, and test engineers
• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Support prototype and pre-series production activities
• Participate in verification and validation activities

Required Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience with technical documentation and engineering design work
• Educational background in electrical engineering, electronics, or similar
• Strong analytical skills and experience with requirement handling
• Experience with testing, validation, or troubleshooting activities
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Meritorious Experience

• Experience from the railway, automotive, or industrial sector
• Knowledge of traction or propulsion systems
• Experience with embedded systems and/or C programming
• Experience with signal testing or system integration
