Test Object Engineer Powertrain
Job description
About the role
We offer you a role where technology meets coordination and problem-solving.
Sigma is looking for a Test Object Engineer within Powertrain who wants to become part of Sigma and work in an exciting customer assignment within product development and testing. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that test objects (engines) are correctly specified and ready for verification and testing.
You will work with identifying the components and materials required to install and use test objects in different test environments. You will be responsible for specifying, planning, and coordinating material needs, as well as handling orders for components and spare parts. You will also review and correct Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure that information is accurate and up to date in relevant systems and databases.
You will work closely with other engineers, planners, and specialists throughout the different phases of the projects. Together with your colleagues, you will plan and coordinate test objects and ensure that the right materials are available at the right place and at the right time. The role involves many cross-functional contacts, and you will become an important point of contact for questions related to components and material needs. Your main responsibilities include:
- Specify and order components and installation material for test objects
- Plan and coordinate material needs for builds
- Own, review, quality-assure, and correct BOMs
- Keep systems, databases, and order documentation up to date
Experience requirements
We are looking for someone with a technical university degree. We would like you to have at least a couple of years of experience within the automotive industry, for example in product development, testing, prototype builds, material preparation, or a similar technical field.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a good technical understanding and enjoy the combination of mechanics, structure, and coordination. You need to understand component and material needs, work methodically with technical information, and manage several parallel activities.
You are communicative, collaborative, and comfortable working with many different stakeholders. We would like you to become a natural point of contact that colleagues turn to for questions and guidance within your area.
As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and thorough. You enjoy taking responsibility, creating structure, and driving topics forward while valuing close collaboration with the team.
