You will work hands‑on with power measurement equipment, analyze and optimize peak power, battery usage, and thermal behavior, and collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and platform teams to improve system‑level power efficiency.
This is a senior, hands‑on engineering role, ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of Android internals, embedded firmware, and hardware power systems
Responsibilities:
-
Android Power & Thermal Engineering
- Design and execute power measurement setups using lab equipment (bench supplies, power analyzers, oscilloscopes).
- Profile and optimize Android power consumption across idle, steady state, and peak usage scenarios.
- Analyze and tune Android Power, Battery, and Thermal frameworks, including:
- Power Manager & wake locks
- Thermal HAL & thermal policies
- CPU/GPU frequency scaling and governors
- Suspend / resume behavior
- active idle and sleep mode behavior.
- Identify and mitigate excessive power draw, thermal throttling, and performance bottlenecks.
