Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a long-term assignment with one of our clients operating in an advanced technical and engineering environment. This role is well suited for an experienced mechanical design engineer who thrives in complex project settings and enjoys working with high technical standards, structure, and cross-functional collaboration.

As a consultant with us, you will have the opportunity to work in technically demanding environments where quality, documentation, and design maturity are key. The assignment combines hands-on mechanical design with project work, production follow-up, and on-site installation activities.

The Role

In the role of Mechanical Engineer, you will work with mechanical design throughout the entire development lifecycle, from requirements and conceptual design to detailed design, manufacturing, installation, and follow-up. You will primarily work in a CATIA environment, producing and maintaining both 2D drawings and 3D models in accordance with applicable standards and best engineering practices.

The role also includes integration of components designed by partner organizations into larger master CAD models, participation in system assembly and machine installation, as well as follow-up of manufacturing and acceptance activities. The assignment requires a high level of autonomy, responsibility, and the ability to manage and prioritize your work in a dynamic project environment.

We Are Looking For

• A higher technical or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with CATIA
• Solid knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering principles
• Experience with design maturity, versioning, and release processes
• Strong experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application to production drawings
• Experience working with both 2D drawings and 3D models
• Proven ability to produce, update, and review technical documentation
• Familiarity with mechanical standards and codes (e.g. ISO, GPS)
• Excellent written and spoken English skills

Meritorious experience includes:

• Experience with maintenance and installation drawings
• Knowledge of technical documentation systems and configuration management
• Experience designing equipment for demanding technical environments such as vacuum, pressure, gas flow, magnetic fields, high/low temperatures, or electronically integrated systems
