Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Control & Protection (SVK Substation Projects) Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Control & Protection systems for Svenska kraftnät (SVK) substation projects. The consultant will be responsible for leading and coordinating complex engineering activities related to control and protection design, retrofit projects, and relay replacement programs.

The role requires extensive experience in electrical design engineering, including the development of cubicle and plant engineering schematics using ElMaster EPC. The consultant will work independently while also providing technical leadership to other engineers and acting as a technical advisor to stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute electrical engineering activities within control and protection systems for substation projects.
• Develop, review, and maintain control and protection concepts for SVK substation projects.
• Produce detailed cubicle engineering and plant engineering schematics using ElMaster EPC.
• Perform engineering studies, technical analyses, and design reviews.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
• Support retrofit and modernization projects, including relay replacement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
• Act as technical consultant to management, project teams, and customers.
• Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers when required.

Required Qualifications Education & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline, combined with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience.

OR

• Alternative technical degree with more than fifteen (15) years of relevant industry experience.

Mandatory Experience

• Proven experience working with Control & Protection concepts for Svenska kraftnät (SVK) substation projects.
• Extensive experience creating cubicle and plant engineering schematics in ElMaster EPC.
• Experience as an Electrical Designer in:
  • Retrofit projects
  • Relay replacement/exchange projects
  • Protection and control system upgrades
• Strong understanding of substation engineering and protection systems.
• Ability to independently lead engineering activities and coordinate technical deliverables.

• Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
